Quentin Tarantino is one of the most well-known directors out there. Known for movies such as “Pulp Fiction” and “Django Unchained” Tarantino has directed a total of nine movies and has vowed to direct not more than ten movies.
Thus, fans are eagerly waiting for the supposedly last film by Tarantino which was believed to be “The Movie Critic” for a long time. However, the recent news of the movie’s future has disappointed a lot of fans. This also includes an actor who previously worked with Tarantino.
Emile Hirsch Is Bummed To Hear The Cancellation Of Quentin Tarantino’s The Movie Critic
Disappointment hangs heavy in the air for Quentin Tarantino fans. The Movie Critic, the much-anticipated project touted as the director’s final bow, has now been shelved, as per Deadline. The plot details were shrouded in mystery. However, fans knew that it was set in the 1970s and that Brad Pitt was going to star in it.
Fans are in a bind after learning Quentin Tarantino scrapped his dream project. It is disappointing to learn that their favorite director had to scrap something he really wished to do. At the same time, it might be great to watch him touch a new genre in his final movie. The news, however, did not sit well with Emile Hirsch, who worked with Tarantino in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
Emile Hirsch played Jay Sebring, a real-life Hollywood hairstylist and friend of Sharon Tate who was one of the victims of the Manson Family murders. During the shooting of the movie, he gained so much love and respect for Tarantino that he could not stop himself from posting his disappointment on the latest news.
Oh man, so bummed to hear Quentin Tarantino isn't making The Movie Critic. I've been re-watching a bunch of his films lately- Pulp Fiction, Deathproof, Kill Bill. Nobody around like him– seriously, who writes better dialogue?? Working with QT still honor of a lifetime for me.

“Oh man, so bummed to hear Quentin Tarantino isn’t making The Movie Critic. I’ve been re-watching a bunch of his films lately- Pulp Fiction, Deathproof, Kill Bill. Nobody around like him– seriously, who writes better dialogue?? Working with QT still honor of a lifetime for me.”
It is a matter of time before more details are revealed on why Tarantino has scrapped The Movie Critic as his final project.
Will Quentin Tarantino Only Make 10 Movies?
Quentin Tarantino has long spoken about directing only ten films, aiming for a curated filmography with a definitive endpoint. The Movie Critic was believed to be that final project, leaving fans to wonder if he’ll stick to his word. There’s a chance he might abandon the ten-film rule altogether. Further, in a previous interview with Deadline, he had confirmed that it was not a rule “etched in stone.”
“I like that I will leave a 10-film filmography, and so I’ve got two more to go after this,” “It’s not etched in stone, but that is the plan. If I get to the tenth, do a good job and don’t screw it up, well, that sounds like a good way to end the old career. If, later on, I come across a good movie, I won’t not do it just because I said I wouldn’t. But 10 and done, leaving them wanting more — that sounds right.”
However, abandoning The Movie Critic suggests Tarantino is actually committed to the role at this point. He might be looking for a new story that truly excites him. Whether or not he sticks to the rule, all fans want is that his tenth movie should be pure cinema.
