Gaming on smartphones has been popular for a while now and without a doubt, it is one of the most popular mediums for playing a casual or competitive video game. Activision entered the market with 2019’s Call of Duty: Mobile, which introduced the same thrill as Activision’s primary Call of Duty franchise but on a smaller, portable device. For the past five years, the game has been one of the most popular games on smartphones but Activision has now released a second Call of Duty game: Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, expecting similar success.

A large amount of money has been spent on the development and marketing of the game. However, it has witnessed a slow start. Call of Duty: Mobile was a massive success, bringing in $4.2 million for the studios in just 4 days after its initial release but Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile couldn’t even cross $1.5 million in 4 days.

The game was soft-launched in December 2023, so Call of Duty Warzone: Mobile has garnered a lifetime revenue of $2.2 million. The US gaming market alone contributed 47% of the revenue with $1.1 million, followed by Chile, which is at $202,500, or 9% of the game’s earnings. For the third position, Australia and Germany have tied as each stands at $360,000 or 8% of total revenue. Since there is less excitement about this game, fans have started to wonder if the Call of Duty franchise will soon lose its crown.

In just four days after its release, the game generated $4.2 million, a milestone that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is yet to reach.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of people explored mobile gaming and stumbled upon Call of Duty: Mobile, which significantly helped in making the game popular among a wider audience.
