As the co-CEO of DC Studios and an exceptionally talented filmmaker, it is only natural that James Gunn is a busy man. On top of his bureaucratic duties, he is actively directing important projects in the DC Universe. Since its announcement, fans have been extremely excited for Superman: Legacy, especially because Gunn is heading the project.

The shooting for the movie has been going on for quite some time, and it is safe to assume that the filmmaker has his hands full with it.

It is perhaps because of this that fans were concerned to find out that Gunn has also begun working on the second season of Peacemaker. Many fans are hoping that he isn’t stretching himself too thin, much like the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige.

James Gunn Has His Hands Full

It has become an unfortunate but well-known fact that Marvel Studios is failing to keep its grasp on relevance. One of the biggest criticisms of the fourth and fifth phases of the franchise is that there are far too many projects, and important people, like Kevin Feige, are unable to give the correct amount of attention to the individual works. Quality seems to be getting lost in the sheer amount of content that is coming out.

It would seem that the DCU could be going down a similar path. It was recently revealed by Discussing Film that the second season of Peacemaker has begun filming. Since James Gunn created, produced, and wrote the series, as well as directed five episodes in the first season, it is safe to assume that he will be heavily involved in the making of the second season as well.

On top of his duties in the John Cena series, he is also working on Superman: Legacy, one of the most important projects in the DCU.

Fans Worried As James Gunn Follows In Kevin Feige’s Footsteps

With all of his work in mind, many fans are worried about the same thing that happened to Kevin Feige happening to Gunn. While the news of Peacemaker’s second season having begun filming should make fans very happy, it would seem that all they are feeling is worry. Many fans have voiced their concern, hoping that he does not get burned out or stretched too thin due to his responsibilities.

Many fans pointed out that Gunn will not be the only person directing Peacemaker, as he will be joined by three other directors. Others mentioned that this isn’t the first time he has worked on two projects simultaneously, having worked on the first season of the series when he was making Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

As much as fans hope that Gunn is prepared for so much responsibility in one go, they cannot help but worry about how it will affect the franchise as a whole.
