Elizabeth Hurley has been a part of many a successful movies. But one of her most sensational appearances did not come for a film. It came in the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral. The movie starring an ensemble of Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, and Kristin Scott Thomas was definitely something.
No wonder it was something that grabbed everyone’s interest at the time. Its premiere was no different. The mega event, which witnessed the attendance of quite the number of stars, was also attended by Hurley who was there with her then partner, Hugh Grant. And she didn’t disappoint fans and paparazzi alike with her Versace dress.

The Bedazzled star came to the event in a dress that was designed by none other than the Late Gianni Versace. A dress, known famously for its golden safety pins, was a bodycon dress, featuring a plunging neckline and a high-leg slit. First adorned by Helena Christensen on the runway, the dress would would hog the spotlight at the premiere.
Not only for its sheer beauty and craft only though. Anyone who saw the dress understood how difficult it would be to pull it off. But Hurley had some surprising news to share. In a recent conversation with People, she made it clear that it was in fact all held together.

In the course of her conversation, she said,
“Well, the funny thing is actually with all couture clothes is that even though they look daring and whatever, they’re so grounded on your body. So that’s probably the first incredibly expensive dress I’d ever put on in my life.” (People)
She continued,
“Before I left the house, I bent down and touched my toes and stretched and wiggled and nothing moved, because, you don’t need to know why nothing moves, but they’re all held together somewhere.”
In the end, it all worked out. The dress would be returned to Versace the next day. But a look for the ages was born.
