Star Wars Outlaws lets players take on the role of a scruffy vagrant, and with that comes a ton of encounters with crime and corruption.
The game shows us a new player in the underworld: Zerek Besh, an elusive crime syndicate that was absent from the iconic films but mentioned in Marvel’s Hidden Empire comics. Zerek Besh is largely involved in setting the stage for Kay Vess’ new adventure in Star Wars Outlaws.
What Is Zerek Besh in Star Wars Outlaws?
Zerek Besh, described as new, rich, and lethal, commands attention with its strong aura and presence. While its exploits haven’t graced screens yet, the influence it holds across the galaxy cannot be understated.
The saga of Zerek Besh takes place amid shifting alliances and covert dealings. After the Hutt Clan attacks Darth Vader’s flagship, the Crimson Dawn effortlessly manipulates the criminal underworld into attacking one another.
Zerek Besh, lured by promises of Imperial favor and lucrative partnerships, also entered the Syndicate War in a bid for power and prestige. Later, when the Crimson Dawn’s manipulation was revealed, all the syndicates turned on it to bring it down.
Leading Zerek Besh is Sliro, a new figure in the story who’s shrouded in mystery and menace. In the Star Wars Outlaws trailer, we see Sliro’s presence looming over the Canto Bight, a gambling haven.
He’s the game’s primary antagonist, on a quest to mastermind the syndicate’s ascent to the top of the food chain.
Sliro gathers the Outer Rim’s most influential crime lords, luring them in with promises of riches amid the Empire’s weakening grip on the galaxy. It’s a golden opportunity for the underworld to thrive, and Sliro is on an unstoppable quest to take advantage of this and help Zerek Besh rise.
