While IMDb shows Liu Yifei as simply an ‘Agent’, fans have been speculating about which role the actress would be playing. While Marvel boasts of many Asian-origin superheroes, only some have had associations with the Thunderbolts. Hence, here are three Marvel heroes that the Chinese superstar could play in the upcoming film.

1. Moonstone – One of the Original Thunderbolts

The Thunderbolts were initially formed as a group of villains masquerading as superheroes after the Avengers were declared to be missing. Created by Zemo, the Masters of Evil were rechristened to be Thunderbolts to hoodwink the authorities into thinking they were superheroes. One of the most important heroes in the group was Karla Sofen a.k.a Moonstone.

A psychiatrist by profession, Moonstone was reportedly accused of manipulating her patients instead of helping them. She used her persuasion skills to steal the Moonstone which granted her powers. While the character is not of Asian origin, a character with a villainous edge could be the perfect vehicle for Liu Yifei to flex her acting muscles in Thunderbolts.

2. Sybil Dvorak a.k.a Skein – Spiderwoman’s Adversary

Much like Moonstone, Sybil Dvorak was a supervillain before she joined the Thunderbolts. Beginning her life as a villain with the identity of Gypsy Moth, Dvorak becomes a foe to Spiderwoman as she hunts socialites at lavish parties in Hollywood while looking for her star husband. Once she joined the Thunderbolts, she changed her identity to Skein and pretended to be a superhero after the ‘death of the Avengers’.

Playing Skein would be another perfect character for Liu Yifei to play as she could explore greyer characters. Skein is also a mutant and with the existence of mutants in the MCU confirmed by The Marvels, the character could make an appearance in the upcoming film.

3. Luna Snow – A Pop Star And A Superhero

Despite being of South Korean origin, the pop star and superhero Luna Snow seems to be the perfect candidate for Liu Yifei to play in Thunderbolts. Yifei is also a renowned singer in China and has released her debut album. She also rendered her voice to the song Reflection in Mulan.

Luna Snow a.k.a Seol Lee is a global pop star who gains power from a cold fusion energy experiment while she is locked in a storage freezer. She is able to manipulate cold temperatures and can even glide through ice. She also possesses healing ice and destructive dark ice.
