Jeremy Renner has gained a fanbase that spans the globe with his portrayal of Clint Barton a.k.a Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On January 1st of this year, Renner got into a snowplow accident as he tried to save his nephew. The actor broke over 30 bones and underwent multiple surgeries. He has been updating his fans about his recovery and he recently a picture of him being fed oxygen in a hyperbaric pressure chamber.

Before the world came to know him as Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner had his breakthrough by playing serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the 2002 film Dahmer. The actor was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Actor for the film. His performance caught the eye of director Kathryn Bigelow, who cast him as bomb diffusion expert William James in the war drama The Hurt Locker. His role earned him a Best Actor nomination at the Academy Awards.

Renner then starred in the fourth film of Paul Greengrass’s Bourne series with The Bourne Legacy. He also starred in a supporting role in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. He was cast as Hawkeye in Thor and then made multiple appearances in the MCU, the most notable being the Avengers films and his own series Hawkeye. He also stars as Mike McClusky in Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown.

On January 1, 2023, Jeremy Renner got into a snowplow accident while trying to save his nephew from the vehicle. While trying to save him from being run over by a snowplow, Renner fell under its track and received multiple injuries, breaking over 30 bones. The accident happened at his family-owned property in Reno, Nevada.

Jeremy Renner’s Road To Recovery

After the accident, Jeremy Renner was quickly airlifted to the hospital where he underwent treatment. The doctors mentioned that he was in a critical condition, however, after multiple surgeries, the actor was well on his way to recovery. The Hawkeye actor was discharged from the hospital and went back home to recover on January 17.

Renner has been constantly sharing updates regarding his treatments with his fans. The actor made his first appearance on TV since the accident in April in an interview with Diane Sawyer. He mentioned that despite his injuries and the traumatic incident, he would do it again. Talking about dealing with the accident, he said,

“Oh, [I remember] all of it. I was awake through every moment…I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience, but I’ve been refueled and refilled with love and titanium…I shifted the narrative of it being victimized or making a mistake or anything else…I refuse to be f****** haunted by that memory that way.”

The actor also recently shared that he was being fed more oxygen through a hyperbaric pressure chamber as part of his treatment. He shared a photo while sharing the news, with the caption, “Hyperbaric chamber, 2-atmosphere pressure, high oxygen, 2x daily”. The hyperbaric oxygen chambers help crushing injuries like Renner’s in healing faster.

The Mayor of Kingstown actor has since appeared publicly, walking with the support of a cane. He has made appearances in his reality TV series Rennervations, which began streaming on Disney+ on April 12.
