Starfield is one the most popular games to have been released in recent times, with many people playing the game in the few days since its launch. These players include those who are on the side of the supposed enemy, PlayStation – specifically Alanah Pearce, an employee of Santa Monica Studios who worked on God of War: Ragnarok, which is a game exclusive to PlayStation consoles.

As is commonly known by now, Starfield is exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC, which has upset many PlayStation fans, and one of these seemingly hurt fans has made a most bizarre demand. This stems from the fact that Alanah Pearce took to playing, streaming, and praising Starfield on her YouTube and Twitch channels, which this fan views as a betrayal as in their eyes Sony and Microsoft are enemies, despite them just being competitors in the same market.

What did one fan demand after Pearce streamed Starfield?

Many players have been playing, streaming, and praising Starfield online on various platforms, and Alanah Pearce is just one of them. However, the fact that Pearce has done so despite being a Santa Monica Studios employee and thus a Sony/PlayStation employee, has incensed one fan to the point that they have asked for her to be fired, saying on Twitter/X:

“Alanah Pearce should be fired for promoting Xbox Games on a public platform like this. Extremely unprofessional and demonstrates a lack of loyalty and seriousness to PlayStation, her employer”.

The director for God of War Ragnarök said not to count on any DLC being made, but have things changed?

Of course, most people realize that this is a ridiculous demand, as people are allowed to play, stream, and talk about whichever games they please, even if it isn’t on the console you yourself develop games for. However, the comments gained enough attention online that Alanah Pearce had to respond directly to them and explain her point of view on all this.

What was Alanah Pearce’s response?

In response to these bizarre demands and remarks, Alanah Pearce posted a video on her YouTube channel, where she said:

“I get that these console fanboys think that there’s, like, this constant war. But the truth is that the games industry has people shared around all the time between many of these companies because there are only so many jobs available in game development. If there’s anything consistent between all the people I know who work at PlayStation, or who work at Nintendo, or who work at Xbox, is that they don’t care”.

Pearce then made known some of her thoughts on the gaming industry as a whole in the same video, saying:

“People in the games industry like and care about video games as a whole. I am not concerned about sales or pieces of hardware or content. I am concerned about doing my job well and making a good video game and enjoying what everyone else makes, too”.

Alanah Pearce then concluded by saying that the console wars that some fans get so caught up in is something that game developers such as herself don’t really care about and that they all have something in common: they love video games.
