During an interview, the director was asked about his feelings and opinions about Jackson. What might surprise many is just how many good words Lucas had to say about the critically acclaimed actor.

George Lucas Praised Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson and George Lucas have worked together quite a few times over the course of their careers, with some examples being Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. It is not all too far-fetched to assume that the two know how it is to work with each other. During an interview, via Conner, the director was asked how he felt about Jackson and he had some very kind words to say.

“He’s a great actor, extremely talented. He’s very very professional. He’s always there working on the set. Never goes to his dressing room. Always thinking about his part. Always giving you as much as he can and helping to make the film better.”

He started off by commenting on what he is like on set, stating that he is an amazing actor adding that his professional and always extremely reliable. He then went on to state that Jackson is always on set, never running off to his dressing room and taking breaks. Lucas revealed that he is constantly thinking about his role and how he is constantly putting all his effort into portraying the character better as well as making the film better in every way possible.

George Lucas Reveals What It Is Like Working With Samuel L. Jackson

George Lucas then went on to comment on Samuel L. Jackson’s acting capabilities during this interview, via Conner, talking about what he’s like when he is in character. He started by mentioning that the actor is extremely talented, adding that he possesses the skill to completely disappear into any character he plays, putting forth a truly captivating and capturing performance that leaves you at the edge of your seat.

“He’s very talented. He is able to sort of disappear into a role. He’s always very powerful. He’s probably the most powerful character on the screen.”

Lucas, then stated that any character played by Jackson possesses a sense of power that is unlike anything else. He stated that this is perhaps one of the only ways you can recognize a character as his own. Making it seem as though it is his signature move, the director stated that you know Jackson is putting his hundred percent when his character is the most powerful in the scene. Lucas finishes this by stating that Jackson is simply an exceptional actor as well as a person.
