The official rankings were published by the Video Research of Kanto Region. The premiere of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End overtook one of the most popular shōnen series, One Piece’s Wano arc finale. What’s even more surprising is the difference between the ratings of these two series. Frieren clearly ranked above One Piece and completely smoked the shōnen anime.
Frieren anime has overtaken One Piece’s Wano Arc
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime premiered with a 2-hour-long episode, which was rated at a 6.8 average household rating. Compared to One Piece’s Wano arc finale, which got an average household rating of 3.2. These numbers indicate the portion of the Japanese population that watches a particular show.
Basically, it is approximately double the number of viewers gathered to watch the premiere of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End compared to the One Piece Wano arc finale episode.

What is Frieren about?
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is about an elf mage named Frieren, voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki. She was among the four heroes who took down the Demon King. After bidding their farewell, Frieren decided to embark on a journey of her own apart from her comrades in search of new magic spells.
An eternity passed, but for the elf mage, it wasn’t noticeable. Observing her comrade meeting their senescence due to old age, she realizes how her long lifespan has made her apathetic. She feels regret for not being able to forge deeper relationships with her friends or loved ones.
She walks on a path of redemption by taking in a mage apprentice and setting off on adventures, which reminds Frieren of her history.
