Robert Downey Jr’s death in Avengers: Endgame left an everlasting impact on the audience. After all, fans have been connected to the character since the first Iron Man movie.
But with the concept of Multiverse at its height in the MCU, the rumor mill suggests Robert Downey Jr may make a huge comeback in future Marvel projects. Moreover, Gwyneth Paltrow recently teased her return to the MCU in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
Well, it would be very hard for me to do any acting right at the moment, just because of my job. But, I guess Robert Downey Jr. could probably always get me back. You know, to some degree.
Robert Downey Jr was always the pivot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following his death in Avengers: Endgame, the popularity of the MCU plummeted.
But with his imminent return to Marvel, it could not only revive its popularity but also pave a path for Iron Man to lead The Avengers in the future.

Even Marvel president Kevin Feige shared his views on the rumors about Robert Downey Jr coming back as Tony Stark/Iron Man in future films. Feige broke the hearts of many fans around the globe with his response to the rumors.
We did not discuss that at the retreat. It’s the truth. We’re doing a project with Scarlett, we love Robert, he’s a part of the family. But in terms of returning? We’ll have to see.
While Feige did confirm that the MCU is working on a project with Scarlett Johansson, he didn’t give a concrete answer to the question. Could it be Feige’s way of covering up the truth behind Downey Jr’s potential return to the MCU?
Well, there’s no way for us to know what’s going on behind the scenes at Marvel Studios. But one thing is certain: If Robert Downey Jr makes a comeback, it will open the path for many former actors such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, and maybe even Chris Evans.
