Longtime Marvel star, Chris Hemsworth turned into a versatile actor following his villainous role in George Miller’s upcoming Furiosa, a prequel to 2015’s acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road. With Anya Taylor-Joy in the lead role replacing Charlize Theron, Hemsworth recalled having a tough time on set.
Initially worried about his role in Furiosa, especially since Chris Hemsworth is often known for being the hero or the protagonist of a movie, the actor mentioned having difficulty. Worried about playing the villain, Hemsworth reflected upon his filming experience.
Chris Hemsworth Was Worried About His Role in Furiosa
It is quite common for actors to face troubles while shooting. Like it happened to Tom Hardy in George Miller’s 2015 film, Mad Max: Fury Road. However, nothing comes close to the level of worry that Chris Hemsworth went through before taking on his role in Miller’s prequel Furiosa.
Playing a post-apocalyptic villain in the Mad Max film Furiosa, Chris Hemsworth recalled being concerned about his role. Often known for playing titular roles and superhero characters, the actor was worried about playing the role of a villain. According to EW, although Hemsworth started excited, he was soon feeling worried.
“It’s massive and otherworldly and everything you’d expect from the Mad Max world, [Miller] has managed to do something unexpected, which has blown me away…I wasn’t sure what I was going to do.”
Reflecting upon his fears, Chris Hemsworth opened up about how he immediately fell in love with the script when he read that he was going to play one of the evil war leaders. However, as the shoot date crept closer, he found himself struggling with doubts.

Thereafter, Chris Hemsworth ended up fully embracing the role and did an amazing job. Speaking with EW, the actor mentioned how easily he got a hold on his character, and turned his project into his best filming experience.
“It was starting to get scary the closer I got to shooting. Then, all of a sudden, it clicked, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had.”

Even the director is impressed with the actor’s skills. “He has the perfect combination of confidence and knowledge, but also a humility and a want to collaborate.” Miller praised Hemsworth.
