Did the makers overlook this major MCU blunder?

Even though The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its brilliant interconnectivity among the projects, there are some grave mistakes by them. One of their major blunders occurred when they introduced Thor as the first alien to visit Earth in the MCU. The information contradicted Captain Marvel which showed Nick Fury’s first interactions with aliens in 1995.

Captain Marvel showed Nick Fury’s interactions with two alien species Kree, Skrull, and Carol Danvers who was a human-kree hybrid for the first time in 1995. He even gets to know about the shapeshifting powers of the Skrulls. It was also stated in The Avengers that Thor’s actions had a direct impact on The S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Tesseract project was given the major priority.

It raised a major question regarding the MCU continuity as to why Nick Fury decided to hide the information. Or was it a part of his plan all along? Even if the Chris Hemsworth superhero turns out as the first alien on Earth to the others, it does not apply to Nick Fury. He has been in contact with the aliens for a long time due to the events of the Brie Larson movie

Captain Marvel didn’t have a good time in the MCU

While the first Captain Marvel grossed over a billion dollars in the MCU, things didn’t work well among fans with the character. She turned out to be one of the most controversial superheroes in modern pop culture. When she was introduced before Avengers: Endgame, it was claimed that she was the most powerful of all.

On one side, as many fans didn’t like how she was overpowered, many fans also claimed that she was too egoistical to be a superhero. Additionally, her movie was also average at best and failed to leave a mark. Despite its billion-dollar figure, it is one of the weakest films in the saga and couldn’t establish her as other MCU females.

The reputation of Carol Danvers has also contributed to the disastrous box office result of the sequel. The Marvels failed to mimic the success of Captain Marvel and turned out to be a major box-office bomb for the MCU. As reported by Variety, Marvel will stop revealing the international and domestic collections of the latest MCU flick which only managed to rake in around $198 million yet.
