It has been a long wait for all the GTA faithfuls out there. It had been over a decade since the release of the last game in the form of GTA V, which came out back in 2013. Fans had been dying for news about the next edition of the game since then. And at long last, their prayers have been answered. After years of prophesizing and ‘what if’s,’ the trailer to GTA 6 just dropped. Logically, it has literally broken the internet, sending fans into a frenzy.
The trailer of Rockstar Games’ GTA 6 was just dropped – and it blew
On just another random winter day (depending on the edge of the world you’re living in) Rockstar Games dropped a bomb. Yes, that is what GTA 6’s trailer really is. Calling it anything other than that would be a shame.
Set in Vice City, the video game is the sequel to a game that made over $8 billion in worldwide revenue. Of course, its hype was unreal. Of course, it broke the internet. What is shocking is that it has garnered 72 million views within 24 hours – a record.
GTA 6 trailer breaks insane viewership record
The trailer, which takes one back in time to Vice City, had to be released early by Rockstar Games following a leak. But it didn’t affect their fortunes a lot. Vice City still went on to be viewed more than 72 million times in less than 24 hours.
Even though it’s still a little shy of the all-time record for most views within 24 hours, held by BTS for Butter with 108.2 million views, it is already the most-watched non-music video of all time. The trailer leapfrogged Mr. Beast’s 7 Days Stranded At Sea. But that isn’t the only video that the trailer has surpassed.

GTA 6 has beaten the MCU as well
This feat is not only Rockstar’s achievement. One might call it Marvel’s misery, but the trailer has racked in more views than the last 4 released Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, a list which includes the likes of Brie Larson’s The Marvels, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, the much talked about (maybe because of the wrong reasons) Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Black Panther 2.
Quite the list, isn’t it?
It hasn’t even been 24 hours, the trailer is definitely breaking music video record of 108 million views

YoChinto is not amiss. Let’s not forget 2025 is going to be a big year for another entertainment franchise.
