In his recent appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia (via Deadline), the In the Heart of the Sea star sat down with the Academy Award-winning filmmaker and fellow citizen of Australia Baz Luhrmann to have a career Q&A with him. Here, Hemsworth subtly hinted at his wish to direct a film in the future in his vision.

The Elvis director was quick to lend him a supporting nod, saying that if he felt like he wanted to do it, he should go for it. He said:

“It’s great to hear you’re thinking about directing. Not every actor wants to direct but I always say to them if you’ve got any desire whatsoever do it because there’s nothing like being on the other side, It’s just storytelling in the end. No matter what you’re doing.”

Considering his medical condition with the potential development of Alzheimer’s in the books, he may seek to fulfill his wish sooner rather than later.
