Suddenly, Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes interrupted this familial affair, declaring that he will fight for the WWE WrestleMania 40 title shot against Reigns.
After The Rock was prepared to make his WWE WrestleMania 40 headlining match official against Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes took the spotlight from him. And now it seems the self-proclaimed People’s Champion Johnson is ready to go to war. Taking to his Instagram, Johnson shared a video, directing his ominous animosity at Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes Snatched The Rock’s WrestleMania Opponent
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has recently made his comeback in the wrestling industry, and ever since then, he has been making headlines with repeated chaos and declarations. Like two weeks back, he made a surprise appearance on SmackDown and chose Roman Reigns as his opponent after Cody Rhodes announced that he would not be facing Reigns at WrestleMania.
Despite winning the Royal Rumble match for two consecutive years, Cody Rhodes decided not to fight against Roman Reigns. Therefore, The Rock found the perfect opportunity to step up to Reigns and declare him as his WrestleMania opponent. But shockingly, things changed the following week at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff media event.
During the press conference, Roman Reigns chose The Rock as his WrestleMania opponent, as they had decided previously. However, soon, Cody Rhodes turned things upside down as he changed his mind by picking Reigns as his WrestleMania opponent. Snatching away Dwayne Johnson’s opportunity to fight Reigns at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes seemingly infuriated the self-proclaimed People’s Champion.
The Rock’s Ominous Animosity Directed Towards Cody Rhodes
After Cody Rhodes barged in and changed his mind mid-way and decided to fight against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, The Rock seemed furious. The whole event further witnessed Dwayne Johnson slapping Rhodes after he took away Reigns and even slammed his family. But with all things said, the decision changed within seconds, and later on, during last week’s SmackDown, Triple H confirmed Reigns vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.
Despite previously teasing Rock vs. Reigns and Dwayne Johnson’s apparent desire to be Roman Reigns‘ opponent, WrestleMania 40, will now witness Rhodes vs. Reigns. Following this insult to injury, Johnson seemed to be preparing for war as he posted an Instagram video, directing his ominous animosity at Cody Rhodes. Sharing a video of himself and Reigns exiting the T-Mobile Arena after WWE WrestleMania 40 Kickoff, Johnson shared a cryptic caption.
“Hear the rumble, hear the rumble. Run for dem life,, hen we step into the jungle. You f*cked around and found out quick, didn’t you boy? You, your little friends and all your crybabies have no idea what’s coming. The world’s on notice.”
Following this post, it seems the bad blood continues between The Rock and Cody Rhodes. Previously, even Rhodes himself confirmed that the rage between him and Dwyane Johnson was far from over when he spoke during WWE Monday Night Raw. Rhodes hinted that he will be getting his revenge for Johnson’s slap and further warned that he plans on hitting him back.
