Arrowhead Game Studios’ hit game Helldivers 2 has recently faced criticism, but it is gradually overcoming these challenges. Johan Pilestedt, the studio’s top manager, plays a significant role in this effort by frequently engaging with fans on social media and sharing valuable information with them.
Pilestedt has recently addressed some fan questions, and his responses seem to further enhance the game’s reputation. These inquiries primarily focus on crossovers, a popular trend in the gaming industry, and they fully disclose the studio’s intentions.
Johan Pilestedt Points Out Helldivers 2 Crossovers Are Possible, but they Need to Make Sense
Fresh rumors have started to circulate about the game as criticism has begun to subside recently. Johan Pilestedt, CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios and Creative Director of Helldivers 2, recently went to X, formerly known as Twitter, to address these speculations.
Pilestedt responded positively to a fan’s question about whether there had ever been talk of Helldivers 2 armors inspired by other PlayStation characters like Kratos, Aloy, Jin Sakai, or even a specific wall-crawler like in Ghost of Tsushima.
Lots. But we don't wanna dilute the brand by making crossovers that don't make sense.

According to the CEO, the studio is careful to ensure that such crossovers make sense because it does not want to dilute the brand with unreasonable moves. Yeah, that means we’ll be getting some stuff soon, though not in large quantities.
Most fans are requesting that the studio retain the game within the Helldivers universe. That said, their requests are not primarily focused on the characters but rather on the armor inspired by them.
I agree

Would Not want the characters…simply armour inspired by them
Some fans go even further, considering Johan Pilestedt’s response and expressing their admiration for the game. They believe that this approach makes Helldivers 2 a game that respects itself enough not to get entangled in the live service crossover frenzy.
Before any Potential Crossovers, it’s a Good Thing that Helldivers 2 Managed to Eliminate the PSN Requirement for Steam
Sony’s recent announcement that it would require PSN (PlayStation Network) accounts for Helldivers 2 players on PC sparked a massive backlash. The criticism from disgruntled fans was so severe that it spilled over into the game’s Steam reviews, causing them to be marked as “Mostly Negative.”
While this decision might appear typical for some, given Rockstar’s Social Club or Ubisoft’s Ubisoft Connect, the real point is that this requirement wasn’t present initially. PC fans had been enjoying the game for months without needing any extra accounts, only to wake up one day and find themselves confronted with such an obligation.
Thankfully, Sony quickly reversed its decision and announced that the PSN requirement would not be enforced, especially not to lose an important platform such as the PC. This move allowed the Steam reviews for the game to return to their normal state. Finally, abandoning this decision also eliminated the danger of players in countries where PSN is not available not being able to access the game.
