Arrowhead Game Studios gained a lot of traction after the success of its live service project. Director Johan Pilestedt intended the game to evoke different emotions that could elevate the Helldivers 2 experience to newer heights. The developers knew how to capture the gaming community and the experience was unlike any other, other players are not fond of this genre and found satisfaction and entertainment in a different game like Baldur’s Gate 3.

Larian Studios struck gold with the latest project and despite the positive feedback and high demand for an expansion or a sequel, the developers chose to move on and not make any more content. Pilestedt was like every other fan but is also a game developer and understands the weight of this decision.

It is tough to see two great games pitted against one another but there is nothing wrong with a little friendly competition. Larian Studios and Arrowhead Game Studios cleared every game and the players were split down the middle but at the end of the day, both game developers are winners.

These two games are drastically different in almost every aspect, from gameplay, mechanics, graphics, and genre, each stands out in unique ways. Larian Studios could have milked the franchise by developing more expansions or a spinoff but did not allow corporate greed to dictate the studio’s future which earned Pilestedt’s respect.

Helldivers 2 was nominated for several awards but the director poked fun at the game which is a testament to his funny personality. The game was nominated for Best Technical Innovation and Pilestedt mentioned if it had been for Technical Stability, the game would have lost on a technicality.

Game development can take the players to different routes. Arrowhead Game Studios went in one direction and was well-received and the gameplay of Baldur’s Gate 3 appealed to other players interested in that genre.

There is no need to pick and choose between two games when it is possible to enjoy both. Both of these studios are already winners and so is the gaming community.
