Deadpool & Wolverine is just around the corner, and new surprising updates about the same still haven’t stopped spilling. While the excitement is still as up as ever before, some of these latest updates have fans literally confused to the core. For instance, Marvel hasn’t been all true with the leaks and spoilers of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s first MCU movie.

According to the exclusively spilled beans, it turns out that not all the leaks of the upcoming movie, that fans saw and derived conclusions about the film from, were true and accidentally revealed. Instead, some of these very clues “may or may not have been” planted on purpose by Marvel, simply because the Studios won’t give up anything for its ultra-secrecy policy.

Turns Out, Not All Deadpool & Wolverine Leaks Were True

Even since Deadpool & Wolverine began shooting in May last year, a lot of leaked set images and spoilers began popping up, constantly keeping fans at the edge of their seats due to the excitement. But while some of them have already been confirmed — like Sabretooth returning to brawl with Logan — some of the unconfirmed ones just may not be true.

This comes after Wendy Jacobson, the executive producer of the upcoming presumed masterpiece, candidly confessed to GamesRadar+ that some of the elements of the film that came to fans’ notice may have been planted there on purpose.

To be more precise, here’s exactly what Jacobson teased:

There may or may not have been some subterfuge and misdirections on the internet or in person in order to protect the secrecy.

Well, Marvel is already super famous for its ultra-secretive measures to keep their plots under wraps, so the chances of this actually happening do sound highly probable.

But wait, does that mean that all the cameos fans had been expecting all along following the leaked set images won’t actually be taking place? Unfortunately enough, so it seems for some characters, as Jacobson herself admitted during the same interview.

As the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law executive producer continued to explain about the upcoming Hugh Jackman starrer:

I can neither confirm nor deny any cameos in this film but I will say, in terms of characters that may or may not appear, it was always important to us that nothing in this movie feels like a gimmick. Anyone showing up has a crucial story purpose or a beginning, middle, and end as a character arc. It was definitely a collaborative process of seeing who fit in and who didn’t.

So a lot of what we thought was true was only a secret diversion in disguise? Huh! Well played, Marvel, we’ll give you that for sure.

Somehow, Fans Are Hoping This Turns Out To Be True

While this commendable technique clearly rivals the approach Sydney Sweeney took for Anyone but You (although Marvel only did it to hide their secrets while Sweeney did it to promote her movie), it seems to have worked wonders.

But at the same time, fans are hoping that what Jacobson confessed is actually true and for a reason all too understandable: They want surprise elements to leave them star-struck at the cinemas as well, and these spoilers and leaks were pretty much ruining it all.

Taking to X, here’s what those happy fans have to say:

Well, since Ryan Reynolds only recently confessed that they have actually been “hiding” quite a lot from fans, this follow-up update from Jacobson sounds only believable. And, as can be deciphered from all these fan reactions, all of this is only for the better.

That said, we can’t wait to watch Deadpool & Wolverine hit the theatres on the 26th of July, 2024.
