Currently a solo pop star cum actor, Harry Styles has come a long, long way since his days as one of the members of the now-disbanded English-Irish pop boy band One Direction. Not only has he made his official acting debut with 2017’s Dunkirk, but besides being one of the most influential men in music and fashion, he has also scored a position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This happened when he said yes to 2021’s Eternals, which featured his cameo as Eros in the film’s mid-credit scene. But while fans have been patiently waiting to see more of him in character in the sequel, it seems like his career in the MCU just may already be over even before fully taking flight. This comes after Kevin Feige’s heartbreaking update on Eternals 2.
Kevin Feige Has a Disappointing Update for Harry Styles’ MCU Fanbase
While 2021’s Eternals was met with mixed reviews from fans and global audiences and had a struggling box office performance, it featured one good thing for all those Harry Styles fans: His cameo as Eros. And despite being a very minute one, his appearance was met with thorough appreciation from fans who have wanted to see more of him in character ever since.
This is why the craze for Eternals 2 was pretty high up as well since it would have potentially shown more of Eros in the saga. This would have taken the As It Was singer’s career to further extraordinary heights by solidifying his position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Kevin Feige has some disappointing news for the fans patiently waiting for the sequel.
As he confessed during a recent interview with Inverse, Marvel Studios is in no hurry to deliver the sequel anytime soon. If anything, they are more focused on the other upcoming projects, and at least some of the unanswered questions from the 2021 millennia-spanning piece of work would be addressed through these very projects.
The current president of Marvel Studios said:
There are no immediate plans for Eternals 2.
Continuing, he talked about the few previously unanswered questions that will finally be answered through the upcoming projects, saying:
There are, and I think you’ve seen maybe in a trailer we’ve released recently, an acknowledgment of some of those events. Certain giant things came out of the ocean.
For the record, he was referencing the Celestial Tiamut the Communicator’s hand and a part of his head sticking partially out of the earth through his “certain giant things” comment — something that was ignored for a long, long time up until recently, since it would be addressed in Captain America: Brave New World.
However, this latest update is crushing all those Harries or Stylers (Styles’ fans, as they like to call themselves) out there because they will have to wait even longer before they can see the Watermelon Sugar singer appear for an actual role in Marvel movies.
Kevin Feige’s Eternals 2 Update Has Crushed Fans’ Biggest Hope
Ever since there had been talks of a sequel to the Richard Madden starrer, fans had tremendous hope in their hearts of seeing Styles properly debut in the MCU. However, this recent update from Feige has all those fans’ biggest hopes crushed in the most disappointing way.
Then there are all those fans who actually liked the highly underrated movie from 2021 and had been really looking forward to getting its sequel. All in all, here’s what this part of the Marvel fanbase has to say about Feige’s update on X:
I hope the mcu sdcc hall h panel is just an eternals 2 announcement bc I am the only person who got eternals and personally deserve a second one. plus harry styles!

As heartbreaking as this update is, fans need to remember that not all hope is lost. While “no immediate plans” does mean fans will have to wait a lot longer before finally getting that much-anticipated sequel, they still need to hold on to their flicker of hope for the sequel getting blinked out of existence isn’t a possibility they should start considering so soon.
