Stefani Germanotta, popularly known as Lady Gaga, recently announced her engagement to boyfriend Michael Polansky. The thirteen-time Grammy Award-winning singer revealed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, that she and Polansky were engaged.
Following the news of Gaga’s engagement, a report from The Sun shed additional light on the relationship between the singer and her entrepreneur fiancé. A source close to the singer revealed that Gaga has greatly benefitted from her steady relationship with Polansky.
She was in a dark space before she met him but he has been a steady, reliable and loving presence in her life, something she hasn’t had for a long time.
The source made the above statement, highlighting how her romance with Polansky had helped Gaga become happier than ever, explaining the couple’s decision to get engaged.
Additionally, the source also revealed that Polansky’s business background has also been a major factor in the relationship prospering since he is not fussed about the glamour of the entertainment business. Gaga and Polansky confirmed they were dating in 2020, and are now engaged after almost four years together.
Lady Gaga Discussed Her Role as Harley Quinn in Joker 2
Aside from a potential wedding soon, Gaga’s fans are most hyped to see the singer in the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux, a sequel to the 2019 Academy Award-winning film starring Joaquin Phoenix.
The film will have musical drama elements and will see Gaga take over the role of Harleen “Lee” Quinzel / Harley Quinn. During an interview with the Empire Magazine, Gaga spoke about her role in the upcoming DC Comics film. She said (via Variety)
I’m playing a character. So I worked a lot on the way that I sang to come from Lee, and to not come from me as a performer.
The Bad Romance hitmaker added that she faced challenges while trying to remove the technicality of singing and immersing herself in the character, who wasn’t a trained singer like herself.
Furthermore, Gaga also revealed that the songs in the upcoming film would be an extension of the dialog instead of individual musical numbers. As a result, it will be interesting to see Gaga tackle what is a new style of music for her while also playing one of the most complex comic book characters.
Joker: Folie à Deux is slated to release on October 4, 2024.
