Coming up with the idea of offering a glimpse into Lord Voldemort’s dark world colliding with a sultry romance, Ralph Fiennes has planned a steamy spinoff. Further, announcing his plans to cast X-Men actress Jessica Chastain as his character’s new bride, Fiennes spoke about a scandalous saga of love, magic, and jealousy.
Ralph Fiennes Has a Steamy Harry Potter Spinoff Idea for Lord Voldemort
After the end of the Harry Potter franchise with Deathly Hallows Part 2, J.K Rowling managed to continue the magical story about the wizarding world with her Fantastic Beast spinoffs. However, that didn’t stop fans and actors from cooking up their own spinoff ideas for certain characters. Take, for example, Ralph Fiennes, who played Lord Voldemort in the films, came up with his spinoff idea for the Dark Lord.
During an interview with The List, alongside his The Forgiven (2021) co-star Jessica Chastain, Ralph Fiennes addressed the idea of returning to his villainous role as Voldemort. Therein, responding with his plan for a wild Harry Potter spinoff that might raise eyebrows, Fiennes noted that he would love to explore the dark wizard’s married life. Additionally, the actor stated his plans to star Chastain as Voldemort’s bride.
I think Voldemort should reappear and there should be Voldemort’s Bride, played by Jessica. [Their marriage] would be very complicated. It would be obsession. They would hate each other. Then they would come together with incredible spells. They would have amazing s*x, and then they would have their traumatic separations. They’d use their magic to manipulate each other and fall in love with each other.
Imagining a plot that’s anything but child-friendly, Ralph Fiennes offered his steamy twist to the Harry Potter spinoff about Lord Voldemort’s married life. Meanwhile, addressing Fiennes’ plot, Jessica Chastain claimed that the idea was “very exciting”. Well, indeed the pair’s tumultuous marriage would be a rollercoaster of highs and lows, constantly pushing the boundaries established by the Wizarding World.
Ralph Fiennes’ Spinoff Idea Might Stir Up Trouble with Bellatrix Lestrange
But, before you start imagining Ralph Fiennes’ Voldemort in a tuxedo alongside the X-Men: Dark Phoenix star Jessica Chastain, we believe there might be serious trouble awaiting the duo. While the wild spinoff idea seemed quite exciting and unprecedented, we surely can’t forget about Bellatrix Lestrange and her previous connection to the Dark Lord.
According to J.K. Rowling‘s co-written Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Voldemort shared a daughter named Delphini with Bellatrix, who was apparently born ahead of the Battle of Hogwarts at the Malfoy Manor. Given this backstory, the idea of Voldemort rekindling romance with Jessica Chastain might be a bit too much for Bellatrix to handle.
Considering Bellatrix’s psychotic behavior and mad devotion toward Lord Voldemort, one can only imagine her reaction to this new narrative twist offered by Ralph Fiennes. Helena Bonham Carter‘s character would undoubtedly be seething with jealousy or plotting a spell to sabotage the Dark Lord’s romance with Jessica Chastain’s potential character. Perhaps she would secretly be the reason for their “traumatic separations,” as mentioned by Fiennes.
