With a career spanning decades and iconic roles that have left an indelible mark on cinema, Samuel L. Jackson’s desire to expand his portfolio knows no bounds. Known for his portrayal of Nick Fury within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jackson’s fondness for major franchise roles extends beyond Marvel, as he has also been featured in several other film series, from Star Wars to XXX. And the actor is looking forward to reprising one of his most memorable characters, potentially through a spin-off series.
Jackson portrayed the role of Jedi Master Mace Windu in the Star Wars franchise starting from the 1999 film The Phantom Menace. In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, the 75-year-old actor expressed his wish to revisit the character in a spin-off series focusing on Windu’s story.
Samuel L. Jackson Wants a Spin-off Series For Mace Windu
Introduced in the 1999 film Star Wars Episode I, Mace Windu’s journey within the epic space saga reached its climax in the 2005 release Revenge of the Sith, where he met his apparent demise after Sidious attacked him with a blast of Force lightning, causing him to fall out of his office window to his death.
However, according to Samuel L. Jackson, who portrayed the character in the franchise, Windu’s journey is far from concluded. In a conversation with Empire Magazine, celebrating 25 years of the Star Wars prequels, the actor emphatically asserted, “HE’S NOT DEAD!!!”
When asked about the possibility of reprising his role and what he would do in a potential spin-off series focusing on the Jedi master, he further fueled the excitement, saying, “EVERYTHING YES!!” Jackson was last seen portraying the character in the 2005 film Revenge of the Sith.
Although he voiced the character in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and later had a voice-only cameo in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, Samuel L. Jackson hasn’t been seen in a live-action Star Wars project since the 2005 film.
