With several CoD releases, people can play these games on mobile, tablets, PC, and Xbox. But even with such great planning, Activision may face a challenge from another rival franchise – Ubisoft. Fans are speculating that Ubisoft is planning to bomb Activision’s year-end plan. They are going to do it with the new Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon game.

There has been no confirmation from Ubisoft, but Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming claims that a new Ghost Recon game is in development. It is named ‘Project Over‘. He also said that he has heard great things about upcoming games of two of the most prominent Ubisoft franchises – Far Cry 7 and Assassin’s Creed Red.

Tom Henderson tweeted,” Ubisoft has a lot of good things in the works. I’ve heard great things about AC Red, Far Cry 7, Project Over (Ghost Recon) etc. but games like S&B and BG&E2 are like a big rock in the middle of the road that they need to get rid of ASAP imo. Too many resources are being spent.”

The next game of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise (Project Over) is still speculation. Even though Tom Henderson has been a reliable source of information in the past, he still made a few wrong predictions. He is well respected in the gaming community for his righteous predictions. ‘Project Over’ will most likely undo the damage from the previous Ghost Recon game.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint was trashed by the fans for its lacking gameplay. Instead of going with the original Ghost Recon style story, they made an abomination of Ghost Recon and The Division. Looting better gear and shifting away from the actual tactical shooter gameplay had caused the fans to rage. Breakpoint also introduced NFT cryptocurrency for buying in-game products. It steered players away from the game.

But Ghost Recon Wildlands was quite popular and sold over 10 million copies. ‘Project Over’ is most likely to bring back that gameplay to counter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. ‘Project Over’ is set to hit the market in 2025. But it could also come out before that. Modern Warfare 3 will be the last game of the Modern Warfare series. So Ghost Recons’ next project can shift the focus from MW3 to themselves.

For the moment, it remains a speculation. Everything now depends on Ubisoft.
