Rising British star Joseph Quinn made Hollywood sit up and take notice of his talent with his role as Eddie Munson in the 4th season of the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things. Paramount Pictures believed that the young star’s talent deserved a shot in A Quiet Place: Day One which is the spin-off prequel to the story created by John Krasinski. The Stranger Things star made such a lasting impression early on during the filming that the production giant took the big leap and cast him for a marquee role in the highly anticipated Gladiator sequel.
Joseph Quinn’s Talent Made Paramount Pictures Offer Him A Big Project
British star Joseph Quinn is undoubtedly heading towards becoming one of Hollywood’s brightest young actors. With a charismatic personality and acting chops to match, Quinn has proved through his pivotal role in Stranger Things, that he is cut out for the big leagues. Expectedly, his talent did not go unnoticed as Paramount Pictures offered him a key role in the spin-off prequel of the apocalyptic horror film, A Quiet Place.
In A Quiet Place: Day One, Quinn will share screen space with prominent star and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o. The film which is set to release in the summer of 2024, will be the Howard’s End star’s next big role after his pivotal presence in Stranger Things.
According to inside sources quoted by Deadline, Quinn completely knocked it out of the park with his intensity during the early filming stages of the prequel, which then prompted Paramount Pictures to go one step further and entrust him with an even bigger responsibility by casting him in Gladiator 2.
Quinn will rub shoulders with a combination of youth and experience with the likes of Denzel Washington, Barry Keoghan, and Paul Mescal making up the ensemble cast in Gladiator 2. The young actor will play Emperor Caracalla with Ridley Scott taking over the reins once again to direct the film. With the original Gladiator film winning a bunch of coveted honors including Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe at the Academy Awards, Quinn has surely landed a massive project that could further define his career.
Joseph Quinn’s Take On A Quiet Place: Day One
The first look of the apocalyptic horror flick A Quiet Place: Day One is out and is already getting viewers excited for what’s in store. Joseph Quinn who co-stars with Lupita Nyong’o in the film, showed signs of why Paramount Pictures favored him for the role and subsequently for Gladiator 2
While the actor agreed that the supernatural and horror element was similar to the narrative of Stranger Things, he believed that this film’s aesthetic was different even from its original source material created by John Krasinski. Speaking to EW, Quinn said,
“It’s more of a [character] drama than anything. The script is obviously set in the world that we know, but it’s very much a film about these two characters who are lost and trying to negotiate their fates. There are also some wonderful other characters in the film who Sam encounters, but the bulk of it is Eric and Sam in their mutual acceptance of this bleak, more quiet, new reality.”
With an eclectic cast that also includes franchise veteran Djimon Hounsou returning to reprise his role, A Quiet Place: Day One looks to be another winner for Joseph Quinn.
