Harrison Ford was honored with the Career Achievement Award for his stellar filmography at the Critics Choice Awards 2024. The ceremony was presented on January 14, 2024, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

Best known for playing charismatic rogues in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones film franchises, Ford’s career spans more than six decades.
Harrison Ford Became Emotional Accepting the Career Achievement Award From Indiana Jones Director
Harrison Ford got all misty-eyed at the 29th Critics Choice Awards while accepting the award from the hands of his Indian Jones and the Dial of Destiny director James Mangold.
It was when host Chelsea Handler gave a shoutout to Harrison Ford, calling him her celebrity crush. She then gave way to Mangold, who stepped in to hand Ford a trophy. Firstly, he went on to introduce Ford, saying (covered via Variety):
“Harrison Ford is a star. However, I submit tonight that he is a variable hypergiant. A star so big, he contains multitudes. A star so unique, he attracts other stars. A star so bright, he has warmed each of our lives in this room, in this audience, and likely on this planet.”
The director then delved deep into Ford’s cinematic filmography. He highlighted his contributions to cinema with films like American Graffiti to Blade Runner, Working Girl, Air Force One, The Fugitive, and the iconic Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises.
Harrison Ford Expressed Enormous Gratitude For Receiving the Career Achievement Award
After receiving the achievement, the 81-year-old actor couldn’t hold back the feels. In a touching moment, he thanked everyone who contributed to his cinematic journey saying, “I’m here because of a combination of luck and the work of wonderful directors, writers, filmmakers. I feel enormously lucky. I’m happy for this honor and I appreciate it very much.”
The Hollywood movie mogul also thanked his real-life leading lady, Calista Flockhart. With a sly grin, he acknowledged her unwavering support. “I wanna thank my lovely wife … who supports me when I need a lot of support — and I need a lot of support,” he said.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny saw Professor Jones retire from teaching, meaning there won’t be an Indiana Jones 6. But Ford won’t be heading for retirement just yet because he’s now diving headfirst into the MCU as Thaddeus Ross, aka Red Hulk, next.
