Aaron Taylor-Johnson might play the next James Bond
The Sun has revealed that actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson might be playing the role of James Bond in the next James Bond movie. An insider has claimed that the actor has to take the decision soon as the studios have already made the offer,
“Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back – As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
The source is sure that Eon Productions will be making an announcement regarding Taylor-Johnson’s casting soon. The actor is well-known for his work in Kick-Ass (2010) and its 2013 sequel, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe character Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). The production of the next James Bond movie was slowed down due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes but with those things sorted out, the production is expected to start soon.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has acknowledged the rumors
Rumors about Taylor-Johnson’s casting as James Bond went viral on social media and very soon caught the actor’s eye as he acknowledged them in an interview with Numero magazine,
“I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment.”
Apart from performances in the Kick-Ass franchise and MCU, the actor has showcased his talent in movies like Nowhere Boy (2009), Savages (2012), Anna Karenina (2012), Godzilla (2014) and Nocturnal Animals (2016). Barbara Broccoli confirmed in 2022 in an interview with Deadline that “filming is at least two years away.”
As we approach the deadline, things should be clear very soon. Many actors have been associated with the role, including James Norton, Damson Idris, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, and Henry Cavill.
