Aaron Taylor-Johnson is not only stealing hearts, but he seems to be stealing quite a few perfect roles from major franchises too. Besides having his recent film The Fall Guy released in the theatres (he stars as Tom Ryder in it), he has another Marvel movie lined up, which, unfortunately, recently faced yet another postponed release date: Kraven the Hunter.

Although it is not new for the franchise to shift the release dates further down the road, this news still has fans springing up with conspiracy theories. That being said, one theory states that this further delay is presumably because of Taylor-Johnson’s casting as the new James Bond. And, as much as it would sound appealing to his fans, this theory might as well piss off Henry Cavill fans.

Kraven the Hunter Delayed Again Because of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s James Bond Casting?

The sixth movie in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, Kraven the Hunter has faced one too many release setbacks. Ever since its initial release date of January 13th, 2023, it has received four more release-date changes, with its latest announced date being the 13th of December, 2024 (via Deadline).

Needless to say, fans aren’t happy about these constantly shifting dates.

This is why fan conspiracy theories have started erupting about just why Aaron Taylor-Johnson‘s next film for Marvel Entertainment is facing so many barriers on its way to the theatres. One of these stories is from none other than Stephen Ford, the actor renowned for his Teen Wolf performance.

According to the tinfoil hat theory he shared via his X handle @StephenSeanFord, the reason behind this recent setback is the actor’s presumed casting announcement as the next James Bond sometime this fall.

As Ford wrote:

As per this theory, Sony is presumably seeing the 33-year-old actor’s casting announcement as the fan-favorite spy as a booster which could lead to them preferably cashing in more as fans step out to view his Kraven movie with better enthusiasm after this.

For those who may be unversed with the reports, Taylor-Johnson has long been a frontrunner for fans among the long list of actors who could next play 007 on the big screen after Daniel Craig‘s star-studded performance before his departure.

Then there were reports from The Sun from March this year, which cited an industry insider as having claimed: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.”

Arguably enough, the Avengers: Age of Ultron star has proven and convinced fans that he could immaculately nail the role of the peerless spy after viewers witnessed his iconic portrayal of Tangerine in 2022’s epic action-comedy, Bullet Train.

That being said, if he does get cast in the role, there won’t really be anything to lose.

However, while this conspiracy theory has given Taylor-Johnson fans a reason to hope to see him as the next 007, it just might end up pissing all of those Henry Cavill fans out there who had been long campaigning for him to be the next Bond.

But apart from that, netizens and some other TJ fans are finding this conspiracy theory pretty reliable nonetheless.

Although a Conspiracy Theory, Netizens are Finding it Reliable

Although this is nothing more than a conspiracy theory, quite a few netizens are still finding it to be a reliable explanation for the current situation surrounding Kraven the Hunter‘s release. Taking to X, here’s how those netizens are reacting to this:

Well, for two facts, we do know Taylor-Johnson could be the perfect Bond and his next film as a Marvel character could potentially crash without the hype surrounding it because of the recent failure Sony faced with Madame Web.

That being said, although a tinfoil hat theory, it still sounds pretty convincing. But, the way we do with nearly every other theory, we should take this one with a pinch of salt as well.

Meanwhile, Kraven the Hunter is set to release in IMAX and premium large formats on the 13th of December, 2024.
