Call of Duty Warzone and Activision/Blizzard have enormous difficulty with cheaters. The game is crawling with these users who just want to make things difficult for every player. After many mass banning of accounts every couple of months, the hackers keep resurging, and the cheaters flood the game again. Warzone uses the Ricochet anti-cheat system, but this has proven not to be useful in the long term. Thanks to new videos posted on X and TikTok, some cheaters are getting out of hand in Warzone.
Activision needs to improve on the cheater issue in Call of Duty Warzone
Ever since Call of Duty Warzone first launched back in 2020, the free battle-royale from Activision has been plagued with concerns regarding cheaters and hackers. Between Warzone and the yearly entries of Call of Duty, the studio has banned millions of accounts without any solid results in the long term. The Ricochet anti-cheat system has shown that Activision needs to solve this problem that keeps players away from the game. Recently, Activision disabled the anti-cheat system without warning, and players were put off playing the game.
Thanks to a post by the streamer ModernWarzone on X, players can witness a very weird and ridiculous cheat in Warzone. This particular cheat shows how the player can literally fly through the map without any difficulties. Players of the game replied to this with complaints and frustration because the cheaters just don’t care to be discovered. More players keep appearing to complain about how Ricochet just doesn’t keep cheaters away.
This will end up bad for Activision if the team does not solve it
In the reply to the post in X, many users have linked to videos on TikTok showing cheaters how to install cheats in Warzone. So this isn’t close to ending, and real players have no more patience with it. Warzone could begin to lose a significant number of players if it doesn’t come up with a more permanent solution. In this 3 first years of Warzone the concurrent players have dropped over time at a very fast rate and this will not help matters.
Other games like Fortnite, Valorant, or even Apex Legends have not shown as much of a massive cheater problem as Warzone has. Activision needs to look for new solutions so it can keep players in Warzone and prevent them from migrating to other games of the same genre that don’t have as many cheaters. With the last measure taken by Activision of disabling the anti-cheat system, a new wave of ban accounts could be coming in the next couple of days.
