With Thor: Love & Thunder bringing in Russell Crowe as Zeus, it is only a matter of time before Hercules shows up in the MCU. And when he does, we want these actors as our top choices for the role of Hercules.

Dwayne Johnson

The first guy who comes to mind is obviously Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. irony is he has already played Hercules in a 2014 movie of the same name. Dwayne Johnson has recently forayed into the superhero genre with DC’s Black Adam, where he plays the titular hero. He has the acting chops to pull this off and his screen presence is legendary now. To topple the star power of Chris Hemsworth, who already plays the Norse God of Thunder in the MCU, you need an actor with equal or better pull. The Rock fits perfectly into the role. The only problem is – will MCui allow it?

Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill

We may never get to see him as Superman again thanks to the screw up by Warner Brothers. But that does not mean Henry Cavill is totally out of the superhero movie scenario. Cavill has the physique and the skills to pull of bulky, muscled up characters. Hercules is the God of Strength in Greek Mythology. Henry Cavill played the Man of Steel for the DCEU, a guy who could literally move entire solar systems at will. The Marvel Cinematic Universe would benefit from having Henry Cavill play hercules. Also imagine the sweet, sweet redemption arc for Cavill after her was literally kicked out of a rival studio.

Joe Manganiello

Joe Manganiello

Manganiello has already been a part of Marvel and DC movies. in Marvel, he played the role of Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man. He played a bully who got his butt handed to him by Peter post the spider-bite. In DC, Joe Manganiello played the menacing Deathstroke – the man who brings fear to the heart of men. Joe Manganiello can easily play Hercules because his chiselled physique has only become even more toned with time. And with age, the guy has blossomed as an actor. Marvel studios should give this guy a chance.

Zac Efron

Efron has gone from being a teen sensation to a full blown Hollywood heartthrob. After a string of successful movies, Efron has come to the attention of many prominent Hollywood studios. The Greatest Showman, 17 Again, and We Are Your Friends have effectively put him on the map. It is only a matter of time before he becomes one of the greatest acting heavyweights of Hollywood on the same lines as Tom Cruise and Daniel Craig. Marvel Studios should snatch this guy up before his eventual rise to the skies above.

Alexander Skarsgard

Alexander Skarsgard

This guy has been all the rage around town after his transformation for the movie – The Northman. If you haven’t taken a look at the trailer, we suggest you do because Skarsgard has nailed the role of a Viking warrior. He has the training and the body to pull off playing a seasoned warrior from ancient times. Hercules is no different. Granted The Northman is about Vikings, how difficult would it be to switch gears for the actor? And it is not like he is bad in his trade. Skarsgard is one of the most underrated actors in hollywood who can pull of any rule, including that of Hercules.

Jai Courtney

Jai Courtney

He may have had a string of bad luck recently. Jai Courtney is going through a dry spell, we will give him that. But the guy is an actor worth his salt. He was one of the best things about the abominable movie that was 2016’s Suicide Squad. His work in other acclaimed films like Jack Reacher and The Exception are also worth mentioning. Courtney is a force of nature under the write studio and Marvel should snatch him up for playing hercules before it is too late.
