Akira Toriyama revolutionized anime in 1991 when he introduced the Super Saiyan transformation in his magnum opus, Dragon Ball. Every fan of the series knows about this iconic transformation and when Goku first transformed into SSJ1 during episode 95 of DBZ in the Namek Saga, where he fought an epic battle against Frieza.
Kakarot’s power dramatically increased in this transformation, and so did his looks, as his hair turned from black to blond and had a golden aura around him.
Every time, when the manga artist features Goku or Vegeta in this iconic form, fans get excited, as the scene gets electrifying, making them jump off the couch with excitement.
However, it looks like the Toriyama-Sensei had taken one Super Saiyan secret to the grave, as a theory looms about how there are possibly three different Super Saiyan paths in the series.

Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball has captivated its fans for several decades, as it taps into its core theme of the human necessity to transform into a stronger and improved version of yourself. Throughout the series, the mangaka has showcased this theme by featuring different storylines and the SSJ transformations embody the age-old theme into the plot.
The ardent fans of the series often get excited as they see their favorite Saiyan Warriors, transcending past their limits and unlocking a greater strength. However, as Toriyama-Sensei continued with his story in DBS, introducing new SSJ transformations like the SSJ God, a new and prominent fan theory started lurking around the internet.
The subreddit of Dragon Ball Z (r/dbz) featured one such theory that looks quite convincing, a fan presents a theory that is related to the “new God forms,” which looks very interesting. The fan stated that this theory first came into existence when the SSJ God form was featured and it takes the “Super Saiyan and SSJG legends into account.”
They mentioned how the SSJ God transformation takes place when a group of “pure hearted Saiyans all working together to create the first SSJ God,” this form brings back the Saiyans back to their untainted origins. However, once the power ran out, the user of the God transformation would die, and so would his friends, who shared their powers with that one Saiyan.
They added, that the pain of losing members would be so intense, that one of the “remaining members of the original God team didn’t just go Super Saiyan but rather Golden Oozaru.” This became the non-canon transformation that we know as SSJ4, which might soon become canon as it can be featured in DBS with the help of one Saiyan.
The fan continued with the prominent theory, that the current generation of Saiyans, who have taken the SSJ forms “prerequisite and applied it to their base forms and not their Oozaru forms.” More importantly, this leads to three different Super Saiyan paths. They mentioned it as:
“The Golden Super Saiyan line, vanilla super saiyan. The one we have in “cannon” DBZ, SSJ 1, 2, and 3.”
“The “original” Super Saiyan line, SSJ4.”
“And the new God forms.”
The fan prominently believes that this idea can widen the storyline, as there is a whole different generation of Saiyans, which can make the series more thrilling, leading to more exciting transformations, that could potentially break the internet.
