Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer remains one of the biggest movies that was released in 2023. Sure, it clashed with Barbie at the box office, but Nolan’s 12th film as a director did great business. A lot of credit goes to the elite star cast of the film featuring Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, and Alden Ehrenreich, among others.
Speaking of Ehrenreich, he has been inconsistent with taking projects as an actor. But the Star Wars actor did a convincing role in Oppenheimer. Ehrenreich played the role of Senate Aide in the 2023 movie.
Alden Ehrenreich Compares Christopher Nolan and Chloe Domont
As we mentioned earlier, Alden Ehrenreich is somewhat irregular in doing movies or TV shows. Sure, he started out as an actor back in 2005, but so far he has only 26 acting credits to his name.
Anyway, after working with Christopher Nolan in Oppenheimer and with Chloe Domont in Fair Play, the 34-year-old actor compared the two directors for one unique reason in an interview with Vanity Fair. The publication stated,
“Ehrenreich hopes to get to a place where he’s directing at least as much as he’s acting, every two or three years. Working with the likes of Nolan and Domont ‘is getting the greatest film school on the face of the planet.'”
It’s clear that Alden Ehrenreich has some sort of a plan for how he wants to proceed in his Hollywood career. He doesn’t want to restrain himself as an actor, instead, wants to be a director as well.
So far, the Oppenheimer actor has directed a short movie named Shadow Brother Sunday, which was released in 2023.
The 15-minute short film received a 6.9/10 rating on IMDb. Considering the fact that it was Ehrenreich’s directorial debut, he did a great job. If he can continue improving at this rate, he may soon fulfill his dream of directing as many films as he acts over the next two or three years.

Alden Ehrenreich’s Next Acting Project is the MCU’s Ironheart
Alden Ehrenreich evidently became friends with Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr., while filming Oppenheimer. Well, after becoming friends with Marvel’s Tony Stark, Ehrenreich is all set to feature in the 2024 mini-series Ironheart.
He has been cast for the role of Zeke Stane in Ironheart. The series will be the MCU’s way of replacing Tony Stark as Iron Man with Riri Williams. If Marvel Studios does justice to the character, it can become a great addition to the universe.
However, knowing how much fans loved Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, it will be hard for any new actor to fill his gigantic shoes.
