InfoWars host Alex Jones has just released a new game, and it has quickly contributed to a meme fest over just how bad it has turned out to be. Self-acclaimed conspiracy theorist Jones has been convicted in several cases, most importantly for his contributions to the January 6 US Capitol Building raid three years ago.
When Jones came up with a game, it immediately attracted a lot of attention. The game is just as controversial as Jones himself has been of late and has garnered almost 800 reviews at the time of writing, with an overall positive rating, but the comments left behind by the reviewers hilariously mock the title.
Alex Jones’ NWO Game Gets Heavily Trolled on Steam
Gamers are having a field day with Jones’ game, Alex Jones: NWO Wars, which has been released on Steam, but not in the way one would think. The game has thus far received positive reviews, but one look at the comments left behind in those reviews will tell the exact story about why the game must be left untouched. Jones’ debut game is everything that’s wrong about the man behind the game himself.
The side-scrolling game is classified as run-and-gun gameplay, with unique levels and challenging boss fights. The game even features Jones’ voice, which includes his catchphrases from his show along with guest vocals by Ryan Katsu Rivera.
The game is currently selling at a discount of 20% for the next two days at $17.76, down from the launch price of $22.20. Even that’s not reason enough to grab the game in a hurry for several reasons. One of those is the sore reason that Jones has used the game to throw a lot of his unsettling comedy in the form of commentary in-game.
The dialogs spouted by several caricatures featured in the game feel just as controversial as Jones’ commentary, with cameos by characters depicting notable public figures including Bill Clinton, Tucker Carlson, and several others.
Valve’s unfiltered digital store means Steam is already filled with low-quality, low-cost games, and Jones’ game also feels right at home with several games that shouldn’t even be in one of the biggest digital game stores.
The game seems to violate several guidelines set by Valve in terms of all the derogatory dialogs, woke comedy, and targeted hate speech spouted by Jones himself from his past shows. It’s anyone’s guess how the game made it to Steam and continues to remain on the storefront.
Jones’ Game Is Filled With Hilarious Reviews
The game has also managed to garner several reviews by Steam users, which has managed to provide much better comedic relief than the game could ever manage.
One of the Steam curators who reviewed the game left a review calling the game “Extremely Queerphobic,” while Steam users have so far left several sarcastic comments. For now, it seems the game’s only being bought by Steam users to try it for size before being refunded.
There are plenty of users leaving comments stating the game was tried for a solid 15 to 30 minutes before being refunded and disliking it for the little time the game was tried. One comment mentioned the game being hilarious for the opening 15 minutes and then the fun ending right after. The comment even mentioned, “Free games have more content.”
The game is proof that there’s no dearth of weird and strange games on every gaming platform, but even more so on Windows. Times are getting weirder, with each passing year bringing even more games that are not just controversial but also downright offensive. Steam is filled with mature anime-styled games as well, and that’s gotten even worse with them getting even worse sequels.
Jones’ game may just be the weirdest game to have kicked off the new year, but by no means will the game be the only weird title to come out later this year.
