Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s s*xy action thriller Mr. & Mrs. Smith served as inspiration for the 2024 Amazon Prime series of the same name. Donald Glover and Maya Erskine step into Pitt and Jolie’s shoes as a married couple who are also secretly skilled assassins in their own right. The show which premiered on February 2nd, has already got a lot of positive responses from audiences and critics.
Apart from the main leads who share excellent chemistry, Mr. & Mrs. Smith also saw a lot of prominent stars appearing in guest cameos including Sarah Paulson, Parker Posey, Eiza Gonzalez, and Hollywood’s heartthrob Alexander Skarsgård. But loyal fans of the actor who have seen the show seem to have a bone to pick with the handsome star’s casting and the minimal screen time given to him.
Spoiler Alert
Alexander Skarsgård’s Blink-And-Miss Cameo Isn’t Going Down Well With Fans
Amazon Prime’s latest thriller series Mr. & Mrs. Smith is gaining a lot of popularity for its treatment and the performances by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine. The show is also being talked about for the presence of various big-league stars who have appeared in cameos including the dashing Alexander Skarsgård. But fans of the star are not too pleased with the way his role has shaped up in the show.
To begin with, Skarsgård appears for all of 3 minutes in the first episode of the series. To rub further salt to the wound, the Big Little Lies actor is killed off in the opening scene of the episode which has his fan base crying foul and expressing their disappointment at their favorite star being denied more screen time. Some viewers though, are seeing the funny side of it by stating that it worked perfectly with the treatment of Skarsgård‘s characters thus far. Others are just happy to be able to feast on the actor albeit for a few minutes.

While netizens are well within their rights to question the logic behind casting a high-profile star like Skarsgård only to send him packing within the first few minutes, a report in Screen Rant does not discount the possibility of the character coming back in the form of flashbacks in the show, based on the popularity of the actor.
Alexander Skarsgård’s 8-Pack Tarzan Diet Is Not For Everyone
Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård has made women all over the world weak in the knees with his striking good looks and perfect physique. Widely considered as the quintessential Hollywood hero, Skarsgård became hugely popular for his roles in series like True Blood and Big Little Lies. But the film that catapulted him to fame and made him the heartthrob of many, was Tarzan.
Playing the titular Disney character with washboard abs required a ton of effort from the actor which included a brutal exercise and diet routine. With the help of a skilled nutritionist, Skarsgård ate 7000 calories a day, tripled the intake of food, and lifted massive weights to get bulging biceps. In addition, he followed a strict routine of eating six meals and never missing his twice-a-day workout sessions.
The sacrifice and hard work paid off with the actor’s ripped body being admired by fans all across the world. His co-star in Tarzan Margot Robbie was also effusive in her praise for the star and his dedication to drastically transforming his body for the role.
