Todd Philips drops Christmas present for Joker fans
Joker: Folie à Deux, a film based in the DC Elseworlds and not in the central DCU, is eyeing a release date of October 4, 2024. With still months to go, the 53-year-old director posted a set of unseen pictures from the film on Christmas Day. The first picture was a mysterious angular shot of a jailed Joaquin Phoenix whereas the following snap showcased Lady Gaga’s look in one of the scenes. Philips wrote in the caption of his Instagram post,

Joker was a massive success, thus, it has set the bar high for the sequel to be considered a hit. Even though it depicts a prominent DC character, the film sticks out from the DCEU and is not part of the original franchise helmed by James Gunn. Margot Robbie has persistently reprised her role as Harley Quinn. While fans wonder why she was not selected for the role in Joker 2, the actress has expressed her support for Gaga’s portrayal, claiming that it is fulfilling to see Harley Quinn evolve into a central character in the Batman universe, per MTV News.
