This is why Hollywood should leave franchises alone when the trilogy is complete.

This is why no need to do more of the same thing. Too much Fast X & too much Indiana.

The last one was a masterpiece. But your other points are valid. George Lucas was the sole reason that Indy 1-4 and Star Wars I-VI were as phenomenal as they were.

The film has gotten a 52% rating on Rotten Tomatoes which is the lowest in the Indiana Jones franchise. It has pushed the film into negative criticism as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was the last film in the franchise that was the lowest but with an average 77% approval rating by critics.
While the film was not much appreciated by fans, it looks like the fifth film has surpassed its predecessor. Not only that, the film is the most expensive film in the franchise, as well as one of the most expensive films ever made with a production budget of nearly $300 million, Given the mixed reviews it is receiving before its release in theatres, it might end up wrapping the franchise in an unexpected way but the final outcome only lies in the viewers’ hands.
Harrison Ford To Play Indiana Jones Role for The Last Time
The veteran actor kicked off his archaeologist journey with the 1981 film, Raiders of the Lost Ark and continued to reprise the roles in their installments. However, it is now coming to an end as the fans will see him for the last time portraying this role in the movie series.
While many would think that he might have some doubts about retiring from the role. He addressed the concern at the Cannes Film Festival stating,
“Is it not evident? I need to sit down and rest a little bit.”
He continued,
“I wanted to see the weight of life on him. I wanted to see him require reinvention. I wanted him to have a relationship that wasn’t a flirty movie relationship.”
His character indeed went through several adventures before finally taking a rest with the franchise. Having already been premiered at Cannes with mixed reviews, the film will be theatrically released in the United States on June 30, 2023.
