In early April last year, the Depp v. Heard trial made headlines all over the world as the Pirates of the Caribbean star filed a defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard. And as a result of both the trial as well as its aftermath, Heard’s reputation and career took a colossal hit. Depp’s fans relentlessly berated her online and the vile accusations that stood against her in court only worsened the situation.
In Ranker’s ‘Celebrities You’re Sick Of in 2022’ list, the London Fields actress came number four, leaving even the queen of controversy, Kim Kardashian behind. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Heard seems to be more hated than Kanye West, and that man wreaked a havoc online like no one else.
Meanwhile, the top-most spots have been reserved by members of the royal family with Meghan Markle ranked number 1 followed by the Duke of Sussex in second place and Oprah Winfrey in the third. While Heard made it to the top 4, West made it to the top 10 after occupying the ninth spot in the list followed by his ex-wife on number 10.
2022 Was the Worst Possible Year for Amber Heard
After an outrageously publicized trial that went on for six weeks in Virgnia, Johnny Depp emerged glorious against his ex-wife which meant the latter had to pay him more than $10 million in damages.
While Depp sued the 3 Days to Kill actress mainly for defamation, a number of other staggering allegations were thrown in the mix during the case; the Fantastic Beasts actor had also accused her of domestic violence and emotional abuse. What’s more, she’d reportedly even faked injuries and bruises to back her argument about Depp being the abuser out of the two.
