Hogwarts Legacy is often considered one of the best Wizarding World experiences ever created, as the title took the Harry Potter and gaming communities by storm a year ago. Getting hints about the scope of the game when it was first revealed, fans began to speculate whether they’d be able to play the popular magical sport, Quidditch.

Sadly, the game didn’t include that mechanic, and players don’t have the option to perform spells while on top of brooms either.

However, a glitch has given birth to rumors about the feature seemingly being cut from Hogwarts Legacy, and it sounds incredible.

Fans Could’ve Potentially Played Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy would have been absolutely perfect if it let player play Quidditch.
Hogwarts Legacy would’ve been absolutely perfect if it let players play Quidditch.

A Hogwarts: Legacy player took to the game’s subreddit and claimed that they faced “a really weird glitch” during which they had the ability to “use spells while on broom.” To support their claim, they shared some footage of the incident, but it has since been removed. But this should be some proof that the developers were initially aware of how much of a requested feature this might’ve been in the final game.

Ever since J. K. Rowling created Quidditch on paper and the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone film showed its entertainment potential on screen, plenty of fans have been wanting to try it out for themselves or at least experience it in a video game. If the claims of the Reddit user are to be believed, that could mean that in the very early development stages of the game, brooms were not just serving the purpose of quick transport.

Instead, players would have been able to do a lot more while riding them, like play Quidditch, for example.

If Some Other Harry Potter Games in the Past Included Quidditch, Why Did Not Hogwarts: Legacy?

The reported glitch could mean that the developers have the feature figured out and are waiting to put it in the sequel.

It is not like the feature that lets players cast spells or play Quidditch on top of brooms has not been implemented in other Harry Potter games before, since even titles from the early 2000s had it figured out. These include the Philosopher’s Stone game and the sport-focused Quidditch World Cup, so it begs the question: why does not Hogwarts: Legacy have these features?

Considering the reported glitch, the assumption could be that Avalanche Software originally had plans to include them, but they may not have been perfected, so the developer could be saving them for the inevitable sequel.

Seeing how fans agree that “that should become a feature,” it should be added to Hogwarts: Legacy sometime in the future as DLC. Imagine the scale of the battles one could witness while fighting and casting spells from the top of a flying broom.

It would apparently be a “dream come true for” many people in the Wizarding World community.
