Oftentimes than most, some stars are talented beyond our belief, but we may not possess too much knowledge about that fact. Therefore, when we either read or hear about their accolades, we might be in for a shock. One example of this is Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway, who is a well-known actress in the industry, but people may fail to realize the potential of her talents.

Arguably one of the most beautiful and talented actresses in the business today, one of the biggest reasons for her meteoric rise to fame and association with high-profile film projects is her ability to captivate the audience from her entry into the frame till her exit. She had showcased this many times on screen in the past and had been rewarded handsomely for it, even if those performances were just mere minutes long.

One of the most prolific and influential superhero films of the 2010s has to be Christopher Nolan’s iteration of Batman in his 2012 masterpiece The Dark Knight Rises, which was one of the highest critically acclaimed superhero movies of all time, along with one of the biggest commercial hits that the world had ever seen. And in this film, Anne Hathaway played the role of the infamous Selina Kyle, a.k.a Catwoman.

Considered to be one of the most career-defining moments of the actress’ career, her role as the anti-hero in this film won the hearts and praises of many, while at the same time, helping the narrative to progress with hefty excitement. Although she may have been on screen for a mere 19 minutes of the entire 2.45 hours of runtime of the film, she was given a paycheck of a staggering $7.5 Million.

What was interesting is the fact that while she was compensated so generously, Tom Hardy, who played the main antagonist of Bane in the film, was just paid $2.5 Million for his contributions.

Although many might believe that Nolan’s highly-renowned superhero flick was the highlight of the actress’ career, they would be wrong, as that honor goes to 2012’s Musical/Drama Les Miserables. Coming out the same year as The Dark Knight Rises, Hathaway had to go into overdrive for this film since she had to portray the role of a helpless pregnant girl who is suffering from the abandonment of her lover while also trying to care for her child at the same time. To achieve this, she had to lose a lot of weight, which caused her severely adverse health conditions.

But the result at the end was so raw and rustic that the audiences were moved beyond their imagination, which resulted in the interstellar star winning an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, even though her total screen time for the film was just 15 minutes long.
