Anthony Mackie Will Keep The “Captain America’s Ass” Joke Alive In New World Order

Mackie spoke with Josh Horowitz on the podcast Happy Sad Confused and revealed that he had several fittings for the Captain America costume:

I’ve had about four costume fittings and the round brown is looking delicious in the spandex, baby. That’s all I’ma say. Yo, Horowitz, that’s all I’ma say… The round brown gonna make you as happy as peanut butter and jelly on a summer day, baby. You know what I’m talking about? Mm, mm, mm, yep.”

The host compared this to the iconic Bat-nipples costume to which the Captain America star responded:

That’s it. This time, it’s not about diameter. It’s about radius.”

When asked the difference between his version of Captain America and Chris Evan’s Steve Rogers, Mackie told Yahoo Entertainment:

I think with my Cap, he’s not a superhero. He doesn’t have a super serum. So, his superpower is his humanity. So, I think with him, he has to come to the stage with a very different understanding of what it is to be a good guy or bad guy.”

While comparisons between Evans’ and Mackie’s versions will be inevitable, the team behind the project is quite keen on continuing fans’ obsession over Captain America’s ass. It has been the content of social media memes for years, and it is quite clear that the joke won’t die anytime soon.

Will Anthony Mackie Flaunt His ‘Round Brown’ In Captain America 4?

Marvel Studios has not released any official Captain America look for Anthony Mackie yet, but because the team wants to continue making the butt joke a trend in the franchise, there is also the question of Mackie’s willingness to flaunt his asset.

In an interview with Variety, Mackie revealed that Marvel Studios called him up and told the actor that they “own” his ass:

You know how it works. They call you the week before and are like, ‘We own your ass.’ Come get in the movie.”

While this is taken figuratively, it seems that Marvel is now prepping the actor to showcase his rear in the film. Mackie revealed that there are “straight solo shots” in the movie where he goes running by the camera and it would be right up the audience’s front view.

Marvel is no stranger to showing a bit of NSFW costumes on the screen; in fact, the studio has been in a lot of fuss related to it, such as Tenoch Huerta’s bulge controversy. Nevertheless, Anthony Mackie seems game for anything and is enjoying his time as Captain America.
