The DCEU had a very unexpected start after the disappointing reviews for Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman: Dawn of War. Things were not looking all that great for the universe at that point, but things drastically improved after 2018’s Aquaman was released. Aquaman 2 has already hit theaters but they ended up cutting a major moment that was teased by Jason Momoa for months.

This ended up making it the highest-grossing DCEU movie of all time – but that doesn’t really matter much anymore.

Warner Bros Cut Out A Major Moment In Aquaman 2 That Jason Momoa Teased For A Long Time

Five years after the success of the original Aquaman, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has hit theaters. Despite earlier buzz about Batman making an appearance, it turns out that footage featuring various versions of the Caped Crusader, portrayed by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, was cut from the final film. While speaking to The Wrap earlier this year, Jason Momoa revealed that he had shot scenes with a couple of different Batmans.

I shot with a couple different Batmans.”

In July 2022, Jason Momoa shared an Instagram post with Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, hinting at Batman’s role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”The movie is set in the DCEUA, with Affleck’s Batman being a key figure since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. Despite initial plans and the inclusion of Michael Keaton in early filming, the final cut removed Batman’s appearance, with Affleck ultimately chosen over Keaton. The movie wrapped filming in January 2022, but eventual changes led to the major changes of Batman’s role in the storyline.
