“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is amazing. I got to see a little bit of it. Not that much of it. It’s amazing. The action and special effects are amazing. It’s funny. It’s heartfelt. I had a big hand in the script with James Wan. It’s pretty much all me and I love it. I am extremely proud of it.”
The actor later at the CCXP convention in São Paulo, Brazil took the stage to reflect upon his reign as the superhero character. He mentioned that it’s one of the longest characters he has ever played. Momoa also dwelled upon how he ended up writing credits via ComicBook;
“There’s a lot of things you want to do and fulfill as an actor and also for the fans and for myself. When we finished the first one, I had a lot of ideas. And I started to put them down, just put them down in my heart and my love for the character. Then we got a meeting with DC and Warners and James Wan.”
Momoa added that he was nervous while pitching the idea for the sequel and shared that the authorities responded well to it noting Wan liked a lot of ideas and later took that and ran with it. He added that Wan took his idea to another level.
