Since the departure of Daniel Craig from the helms of James Bond, there has been a rigorous search for the perfect actor to carry the iconic role forward. With several actors, including Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have been involved in the debate for the next Bond. However, the Kingsman star Taron Egerton was coming out as the favorite to grab the iconic role.

However, it seems that Henry Cavill might still have a fair shot at the role, as the Kingsman Star has recently refused to be involved in the debate for the iconic role due to his health issues.

Taron Egerton doesn’t see himself fit for the role of James Bond

Among the plethora of actors that are reportedly being considered to carry the iconic mantle of James Bond after Daniel Craig, Taron Egerton grew as one of the frontrunners for the role. However, it seems that the Kingsman star isn’t interested in playing the role of James Bond in the future.

During his interview with The Telegraph, Taron Egerton expressed that he doesn’t see himself fit enough to play James Bond, as the actor is currently suffering from several weight issues. He said,

“I don’t think I’m the right choice for it. You have to be consistently statuesque to be that guy. And that’s something that I am still striving for. I’ve always struggled with my weight.” 

The Kingsman: The Golden Circle star also explained that even though it would be fun to portray Bond onscreen, he wouldn’t be comfortable with the long commitment that comes with the character. However, his exclusion from the James Bond race might increase the chances for Henry Cavill for the role.

Henry Cavill might still have a shot at the role of 007

When it comes to James Bond, Henry Cavill is easily the fan-favorite to carry the decades-old legacy of 007 forward, as the actor comprises all the attributes to make the perfect James Bond. However, despite being in line for the character alongside Daniel Craig, the actor has been repeatedly sidelined from the role and is now reportedly being considered to play the villain in the new Bond film.

However, following the immense star power of Cavill and the exclusion of the Kingsman Star Taron Egerton from the race of the next 007, it seems that Cavill might still end up playing the character.
