Depending on whether this information is true, it is likely that we will receive a Black Flag remake sometime in the next 2–3 years, as Ubisoft is already working on a few different projects for this franchise at one time.

According to a recent tweet from user JorRaptor, a large portion of the Skull and Bones team has currently been moved to an unnamed project, which began back in September 2023. At the moment, we do not know if this project will be a remake of Black Flag or if it will be a complete remake of all the original games, bringing them up to the current generation of consoles.

So far, the information that proves a bunch of the Skull and Bones team have moved over to a new project is the fact that there are some internal documents detailing job positions for full-time and part-time members who have worked on past game content for the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Within these notices, we can see that these members of staff work at Ubisoft Singapore and have already worked on a few different projects in the AC universe. However, the added information that they are working on a currently unannounced Assassin’s Creed project is all we need to hope that Black Flag will be making its return.

Since its original release, gamers have been blown away by Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and its amazing world and characters that inhabit the whole world. This would make sense for a remake, as gamers worldwide would love an opportunity to see their favorite Assassin/Pirate make a return to the franchise.

What Is the Gaming Community’s Reaction to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Potentially Being Remade?

At the moment, there is a mix of responses from the gaming community, as most players are excited to finally be able to experience a high-quality pirate game with a well-flashed-out story and ship-to-ship battle mechanics.

Even though there have been other pirate games like Sea of Thieves and soon Skull and Bones, none of them have held a candle to Black Flag, and the only game that could top Black Flag is a remake of Black Flag.

There are still some gamers, however, who believe that before a Black Flag remake begins, there should be a remake of all the original games that were set before AC Black Flag, as that would feel a lot more special than just selecting one specific game from the entire franchise.

This is completely understandable, as there are many gamers who enjoyed the first three games in the franchise and would rather re-visit their time with Ezio than be pirates on the Seven Seas. At the moment, there are arguments for both sides of the discussion, and each has its merits, but if this rumour turns out to be true, it could mean that other games from the franchise could receive a remake sometime in the near future.

What do you think about this rumor regarding the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag? Are you looking forward to being a pirate and venturing into the ocean with your crew singing shanties again? Or would you rather experience the original three games instead? Let us know in the comments what you think!
