While this date isn’t exactly too close or confirmed that it is actually Assassin’s Creed Shadows release date, it gives ample time for devs and publishers to bring us more trailers, news, and information about the game. What better way to create hype for the game? If the game succeeds in bringing back the franchise to all its glory, it can likely be a contender in time for GOTY 2025.

Previously known as Assassin’s Creed Red, the game has already been speculated to a large extent. Even though not many fans agree and feel excited about its narrative, the game is going to dive into territories that the franchise hasn’t explored before.
Take for example the setting itself. Based in feudal Japan, the game will tell a story about a samurai who’s on a quest that may feel a little familiar to those who are fans of Ghost of Tsushima. However, the game’s distinct setting in a vast open-world RPG tries to keep it in a unique spot.
Given how the franchise isn’t exactly new to historical tales told in massive landscapes, it will be fascinating to see how Assassin’s Creed Shadows dives into a story that’s never been told before. The name ‘Shadows‘ itself hints at a narrative around legacy and stealth. Two ideas that the franchise handles pretty well.
