So far, Cameron has revealed that the development phase of the film has already started and that penning the script and screenplay might be completed shortly.

Along with that, he also revealed that the production of the film will start as soon as Avatar 3 is released, which is expected to be somewhere around the holiday season of 2025. He also claimed that the story will take a major turn in the film as it will be narrated six years in the future after the events of the third film.

Finally, to put the fans’ minds at ease, Cameron revealed that the fourth film is eyeing a release date of December 21, 2029.
