Baldur’s Gate 3 Saves are Once Again Cross-Platform!

The subject of ‘Baldur’s Gate 3 Saves’ saw cross-saves deactivated at the beginning of this month following the PC launch, after players complained about experiencing bugs.

“If you’re playing baldurs gate 3 right now, turn off cross saves. I just lost 6 hours of progress with a friend because it wasnt saving.”

And thankfully Larian Studios have eased fans worries recently by confirming that they had looked into the cross-platform issue experienced with Baldur’s Gate 3 saves, implementing Hotfix#3 and that it had once again be re-activated. They posted up the following thanking fans for their patience and for flagging the various issues up to them;

“As ever, thank you for playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and reporting these issues! Behind the frontlines, our team would like to thank you for how much information you’re providing in your bug reports, it’s enabling us to get these hotfixes ready very quickly. Continue to be thorough, we appreciate it. Please reach out to our support team if you run into trouble.”

Larian Studios confirmed that the issue regarding Baldur’s Gate 3 Saves has been resolved

If you haven’t experienced the cross-saves feature before, it would mean that you could take all you data from your Baldur’s Gate 3 Steam save, create an account with Larian Studios and then transfer this save data onto your PlayStation 5. It’s a pretty exciting feature which means that you’re not confined to how you choose to play the title and if you decide to travel, then you could essentially take it with you.

And a spokesperson for Larian Studios had the following to say on the recent issue of Baldur’s Gate 3 Saves;

“As of today, we’re also reactivating cross-saves as we near our PlayStation 5 launch.” 

Which is great news for fans who are looking to enjoy the title across various platforms. And being able to cross-save is not a new feature, with it being available in several online multiplayer games such as Destiny 2, Fortnite, Overwatch 2 and the highly acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.

And of course, this is a feature that Xbox has with some of it’s games. The Xbox Game Pass with its cloud saves allowing players to switch between PC and console. But it’s not exactly ground-breaking tech and if you cast your minds back through the mists of time you may recall a little thing called ‘memory cards’.
