One of the many features that have been heavily requested by the Baldur’s Gate 3 community is the ability to add mods to the game. Larian Studios has understandably held back this feature for some time, but now it seems that it is willing to bring in the mod madness in its next update.

According to a comment in the recent news blog on Steam, this modding tool will allow players to alter items like animations, visuals, sounds, stats, and more. Sadly, no specifics have been detailed within this news blog, but there is potential for a lot of chaos thanks to this new system.

The modding community is very well-known for creating chaos within the different mods that are released onto the internet, and now that Larian is opening Baldur’s Gate 3 to the modding community, we can only guess as to what kind of abominations will be taking on the many enemies within Baldur’s Gate 3.

As stated above, one of the more popular types of mods that are brought into games early on are those that tend to change character models into characters from other franchises, most commonly characters like Shrek, Thomas the Tank Engine, Shaggy, and so many more.

These aren’t the only types of mods that gamers will be able to use, however, as they will be able to even change things like animations and sounds within the game to create a more unique experience.

Players will also be able to change animations for cutscenes, which is a game that includes rather saucy scenes, changing these animations will create some rather unique moments for players to enjoy. Along with Baldur’s Gate 3‘s incredible world design, players will even be able to use mods to improve on this unique world, either by changing it for the better or changing it for the worse.

Depending on the mods being used, gamers can easily improve the game’s graphics to look even more beautiful, if that is even possible. Until we see this new feature in action, there is no telling what players will be able to do.
