The MCU’s Blade reboot is set to be released as the last movie of Phase 5, and it’s getting a lot of attention. It’s one of the Marvel flicks fans are really looking forward to.
There are reports suggesting that in the next Blade movie, Mahershala Ali’s character (as the titular vampire-killing daywalker) might introduce a possible successor. This speculation arose after news surfaced indicating that the upcoming film will feature the titular character’s daughter.
Many Marvel fans are unhappy about this development. They see it as sending negative signals about the movie’s direction and how the character succession is being handled.
Blade‘s Potential Successor in the Film Raises Concern Among Marvel Fans
There’s a lot of talk about the next Blade movie, and it’s got Marvel fans both excited and worried. Mahershala Ali’s character might introduce his daughter in the film, and looks like not everyone is happy about this idea.
The upcoming Marvel Studios film reportedly centers on a conflict involving Lilith, Blade, and his daughter. This recent rumor comes from Hollywood insider DanielRPK (via Coming Soon), who claimed that the upcoming Blade movie might have Mia Goth playing the villain Lilith—a demon sorceress. Her plan involves kidnapping Blade’s daughter to create an army of immortal Daywalkers.
It’s surprising to see Blade reboot focused on his daughter, Brielle Brooks, considering she was only introduced in the comics in 2022. If this rumor is true, it looks like the MCU is taking a completely new direction with Blade.
So expect more hugging than fight choreography….

Introducing Blade’s daughter in his first solo movie means they’re setting up a successor for Blade pretty early on, even before Mahershala Ali gets a chance to establish himself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thor took four movies before he had a daughter, so it feels a bit rushed for Blade.
Who is Blade’s Daughter Brielle Brooks?
Bloodline is Blade’s daughter with Safron Caulder. Brielle Brooks first appeared in Free Comic Book Day 2022: Avengers/X-Men #1. The story introduced her as the teenage daughter of Blade, who hunts vampires like her father, despite him being absent from her life.
The Bloodline: Daughter of Blade (a five-issue series written by Danny Lore and penciled by Karen S. Darboe) then set up Bri’s journey as a hero, showing her as strong as her father and might become even stronger one day. Blade also gives Bloodline her first hero costume. So, it’s a perfect time to get to know Marvel’s next generation vampire hunter.
More About Upcoming the Blade Release
Yann Demange (who directed White Boy Rick and ’71), is directing Marvel’s Blade movie. The script is written by Michael Green, who worked on Logan. Bassam Tariq was supposed to direct originally, but he had to step down because of scheduling issues.
The original cast of Blade had Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, and Milan Ray, but it’s unclear if they’re still part of the project. Production was supposed to start in November 2022 but went through some changes.
The MCU Blade reboot was first set for release in 2023 but got delayed to 2024 and then again to 2025. In June 2023, Disney revealed some Marvel movie delays, including Blade along with other Phase 5 and 6 films. The new release date for the Blade movie is November 7, 2025.
The release date was announced shortly after the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strikes, so it’s expected to be the final schedule for the movie.
