Invincible, just like its source material, is cementing itself as the best superhero media of our times, as it chooses to subvert the various trends in superhero fiction one after the other. Despite the minor dip in popularity that it experienced thanks to the seemingly unnecessary break between its seasons, the show seems to be gearing up for one hell of a finale.

In Season 2 Episode 7, we last left Mark Grayson in a very dire situation, with Angstrom Levy holding Debbie and Oliver hostage. While the finale is surely set to be a blast, we can gauge from the comics where exactly the characters are going to end up by the time the show ends. With multiple plotlines already set up by the season, we can look to the comics to see what we can expect from Invincible’s Season 2 finale.

Invincible is in for a ride across the multiverse

Angstrom Levy has some very creative ways of using his powers. He sends Invincible across the multiverse while the hero tries to land a punch on the multiversal despot, only to end up in another universe. These universes include the Marvel Universe, which is explored in a comic of its own, along with the DC universe (which is implied, as he allegedly has a run-in with Batman). He also has a run-in with other creations of Robert Kirkman, like a cameo in the Walking Dead universe, which is another one of his successful shows.

Invincible will also see himself meet a different version of the Guardians of the Globe, one with an older Atom Eve it, who has to keep a lot of her life shut, given that she knows that this Mark Grayson has not yet begun dating her in his own universe. Further, we are still yet to see the caped figure who made a cameo in the Season 2 Part 2 trailer, largely speculated to be an alternative to Mark Grayson.

Nolan Grayson will lead the other plot in Invincible

The last we see of Nolan is in a maximum security Viltrumite prison, where we can also assume Allen the Alien is headed after his brief stint with Anissa. Allen, Nolan, and Battle Beast (also stuck in the Viltrumite Prison) are key to the havoc that they cause, where Nolan delivers to Allen a revelation that shifts the tide of the War in favor of the Coalition of Planets. Nolan also realizes here that he actually loves Debbie, and misses her dearly. The show’s official X handle is not very keen on the details, but given the hype around the episode, it has decided to warn users of the hype:

When Nolan joins the Coalition of Planets, he also decides to make a visit to Earth, to reconcile with Debbie and also bring Oliver with him, which leaves Mark’s parents’ house empty, ready for him and Atom Eve to move in. However, given that the show is taking it a little slow, it is possible that the finale will have the characters land in a completely separate part of the narrative, albeit with similar circumstances.
